Answer: Patterns help us organize thoughts and establish order to our lives. As we begin to connect patterns in nature and life, they bring a sense of harmony to our minds. Patterns lead to and build math, vocabulary and cognitive concepts. Patterns are excellent in helping us establish priorities.
The ability to recognize and create patterns help us make predictions based on our observations; this is an important skill in math. Understanding patterns help prepare children for learning complex number concepts and mathematical operations. Patterns allow us to see relationships and develop generalizations.
Pattern Rules. When numbers in a pattern get larger as the sequence continues, they are in an ascending pattern. Ascending patterns often involve multiplication or addition. When numbers in a pattern get smaller as the sequence continues, they are in a descending pattern.

Another simple example in which it is possible to find the Fibonacci sequence in nature is given by the number of petals of flowers. Most have three (like lilies and irises), five (parnassia, rose hips) or eight (cosmea), 13 (some daisies), 21 (chicory), 34, 55 or 89 (asteraceae).
Tessellations form a class of patterns found in nature. The arrays of hexagonal cells in a honeycomb or the diamond-shaped scales that pattern snake skin are natural examples of tessellation patterns.
– Waves: The wave pattern is most often seen when looking at the ocean from above. However, you can also see wave pattern in nature when the wind blows through the grass. This complex spiral pattern, which has complex mathematical realities, also helps to maximize energy flows.
A few examples include the number of spirals in a pine cone, pineapple or seeds in a sunflower, or the number of petals on a flower. The numbers in this sequence also form a a unique shape known as a Fibonacci spiral, which again, we see in nature in the form of shells and the shape of hurricanes.
Mathematics reveals hidden patterns that help us understand the world around us. As a science of abstract objects, mathematics relies on logic rather than on observation as its standard of truth, yet employs observation, simulation, and even experimentation as means of discovering truth.
Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective communication skills.
People use math knowledge when cooking. For example, it is very common to use a half or double of a recipe. In this case, people use proportions and ratios to make correct calculations for each ingredient. If a recipe calls for 2/3 of a cup of flour, the cook has to calculate how much is half or double of 2/3 of a cup.
Mathematics is of central importance to modern society. It provides the vital underpinning of the knowledge of economy. It is essential in the physical sciences, technology, business, financial services and many areas of ICT. It is also of growing importance in biology, medicine and many of the social sciences.
